Cycloop is a safe place for bicycles. The objective of Ambroise, its founder, is to provide a useful service to Reims cyclists with the creation of a workshop in the city center.

Context

Convinced that the bicycle is the solution to many urban problems, Ambroise created Cycloop, a repair and maintenance workshop for bicycles with the aim to democratising the use of bicycles.

He hired me and Caroline, an Art Director I use to work with at Dentsu to redesign Cyloop and create a timeless, simple, identifiable, accessible and easy-to-use urban brand.

Methodology

We teamed up with Ambroise to better understand his customers and their role in the success of his bike repair business. Together, we developed the brand's visual identity—choosing colors, typography, and designing a logo that reflects its energy and ambition.

In the end, we shaped a strong digital brand image and built an intuitive, user-friendly booking journey for customers to easily schedule their bike repairs

Data collection & UX

Personas

As Cycloop has made a strong commitment to preserve earth and people, the workshop doesn't collect datas about its customers.

In order to understand who they are, we had to analyze the typology of bikes repaired by the workshop. We didn't talk about digital habits or background, the main idea was to identify the needs to define the offers and to identify who will be the primary, secondary and tertiary targets:

  1. Business bike owners
  2. High-end & Sport bike owners
  3. Mid-range bike owners

Craft & UI

While all the UX process was going on, we started to craft a beautiful website with a strong identity.

  • Efficiency: Straight to the point to give a quick solution for clients who are in a hurry.
  • Transparency: Clear process from the start, no hidden costs, no unpleasant surpises.
  • Lightness: A website wich requires as little consumption as the business does.

My role during this project

I was in charge of helping Ambroise to understand who are the customers of Cycloop and to clarify the offer. My work was about client & project management, analysis & strategy, user-flows, wireframes. During the production, I collaborated with a visual designer and a full-stack developer to create the brand and the website.

I also gave a hand on branding and UI.
